Call of Duty will halt back-to-back releases of Black Ops, Modern Warfare – IGN Daily Fix

In today’s Daily Fix:

The Call of Duty dev team has released a statement basically acknowledging Black Ops 7’s shortcomings and promising to move forward with back-to-back annual releases of mainline Call of Duty games. This comes after Black Ops 7 received mediocre reviews and frankly poor sales numbers due to tough competition this year. EA’s Battlefield 6 and Embark Studios’ ARC Raiders both launched at the same time and received widespread praise. Black Ops 6 was released just last year, and Modern Warfare 2 and 3 were also released in previous years, leading many fans to complain that each entry doesn’t look or play much different than the previous year. In other news, two new games are being added to December’s PlayStation Plus lineup: Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Wu Long: Fallen Dynasty. They appear in the recently released skating game Skate Story.
