Phil Spencer retires, Sarah Bond out in Xbox leadership shakeup – IGN Daily Fix

In today’s Daily Fix:

In an exclusive report from IGN, Xbox CEO Phil Spencer has announced his retirement from Xbox after 38 years with parent company Microsoft. Xbox president Sarah Bond is also resigning. Asha Sharma, currently the president of Microsoft’s CoreAI product, will be the new CEO of Microsoft Gaming. Xbox Game Studios head Matt Booty will be promoted to chief content officer and will work closely with Sharma. In other news, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has confirmed that two new Far Cry projects are in development, and he has assured Splinter Cell fans that the Splinter Cell remake is still happening, despite future layoffs at Ubisoft Toronto. And finally, Nintendo is releasing Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen on the Switch as separate $20 games. This has left some fans confused and angry, who wonder why the titles were not added to Game Boy Advance Player as part of Nintendo Switch Online.
