The entertainment industry went through a major shock early today when Netflix announced that it has entered into an agreement to purchase Warner Bros. Discovery for a whopping sum of $82.7 billion. WBD had been shopping around for potential buyers in recent weeks, with rival Paramount also making a bid. Although the deal isn’t finalized yet (and won’t be until late next year), Netflix is expected to acquire WB’s vast library of films and IP, including Game of Thrones and DC Entertainment. In other news, dataminers may have found evidence of an upcoming Mario Kart World DLC that could bring the Donkey Kong Bananza boss to the game. And finally, prolific actor Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa died yesterday at the age of 75. He was best known for bringing the Mortal Kombat villain Shang Tsung into live action in the 1995 version of the movie and also reprising the role in subsequent video game installments.
